About Agenda Sur
Agenda Sur is a place for people to discover events in their communities and surrounding areas: a free, bilingual calendar for the Valle del General and the Southern Zone of Costa Rica.
Why it exists
Local events are scattered across WhatsApp and Facebook groups, flyers and word of mouth. If you’re not in the right group, you miss them. Agenda Sur brings them together in one easy place to see and share, in Spanish and English.
It started in Santa Elena de Pérez Zeledón and covers the Valle del General, the Chirripó area and the Costa Ballena. It is an independent community project.
How events get here
- Organizers post them for free, with just their email (kept private), so they can edit them later.
- We also gather events from public sources (the municipality, community groups, venue and organizer websites). Those show a “Source” link to the original, and their organizer can claim them to manage them.
- Coming soon: forwarding an announcement to Agenda Sur on WhatsApp will turn it into an event.
- Every event is translated automatically into the other language.
Free, no third-party ads
Browsing, saving and posting events is free. We don’t sell data or show other companies’ ads. Organizers can feature an event (it shows at the top, marked “Sponsored”), which helps keep the site going.
